What is Beauty Skin & what are it's affects?
BEAUTY SKIN is a highly effective procedure for the cosmetic
treatment of pimples and blackheads. It
is based on the positive effect which light with specific
wavelengths can have on human skin. Blue light penetrates
up to the pimple and blackhead causing bacteria (propionibacterium
acne) in the skin. It acts as anti-bacteria substance and
prevents further occurence of pimples and blackheads. Red
light alleviates the skin inflammation, relieves and stimulates
the skin positively.
The combination and the simultaneous application
of both the light shades produce the special effect of BEAUTY
SKIN and this without the impact of radiation.
2. How successful is the appliation?
The medical studies were carried out at the dermatological
institute of the Hammersmith Hospital in London.
The scientific working group headed by Dr.
Anthony C. Chu carried out tests on 107 patients with light
to medium acne vulgaris. Four groups were formed:
-Treatment with blue light (approx. 415 nm)
-Treatment with red & blue light BEAUTY SKIN
(415 nm, 659 nm)
-Treatment with white light 4300K (color temp.)
-Treatment with 5% benzoylperoxide cream
The patients with light application were given radiation 15
minutes daily. Benzoylperoxide was applied 2 times every day
with no additional treatment. The test ran for 1/4 year.
The success of the treatment was evaluated
on a monthly basis by medical professionals, as well as independently
by the patients themselves. The results show that 2 out of
3 users of BEAUTY SKIN experienced a visible miprovement of
up to 75%.
3. How BEAUTY SKIN works
A. Bacteria
Even in the case of healthy appearing skin, the propioni acne
bacteria is present in every skin pore. Normally, the oxygenated
environment of healthy pores inhibits the bacteria's growth.
There is a relationship between the growth and of bacteria
and the openness of the pores. If the pore becomes blocked,
the bacteria's environment becomes anaerobic (without oxygen)
In this atmosphere the bacteria can grow
rapidly, resulting in visible pimples. There are many causes
that can lead to pore blockage, such as hormonal changes during
puberty or reaction to toxins such as dioxine (in the extreme
case), which for example can lead to chlor acne.
B. Metabolism
A product of metabolism of propioni bacteria acne is the porphyrine.
Under effect of blue light, concentrated in the wavelength
of 415 nm, porphyrine begins to fluoresce. This starts a biochemical
process which releases oxygen. This process is known as "Reducing,"
where oxygen is separated from the molecule. The released
oxygen has a deleterious influence on the bacteria, killing
it or slowing its growth.
Due to this anti-bacterial effect of the
blue light, the cause of inflammation in the skin pore is
rendered ineffective.
Thus, through this anti-bacterial effect,
this blue light eliminates the cause of inflammation in the
skin pore.
Red light, meanwhile, is commonly used in
standard classical medicine. A frequent use is to stimulate
the wound healing process and for reducing the scar formation
after operations. It relaxes and stimulates blood circulation
in compromised tissue.
The red light -- as many trials of
independent scientists have shown -- stimulates the white
blood cells to produce fibroplast, a building block of new
tissue, accelerating the healing process. Inflammations heal
more effectively and swelling is reduced. This is precisely
the effect that BEAUTY SKIN can take advantage of.
Many years of study have allowed us
to strengthen and optimize the effective light spectra in
BEAUTY SKIN. Dermatologists and lamp developers have worked
closely together to achieve the results represented by BEAUTY
SKIN.
The wavelengths effective in BEAUTY SKIN
occur simultaneously in the natural sunlight spectrum. This
can be seen easily from Plank's radiation distribution of
a glowing body like the sun at 6500 Kelvin.
C. UV Light
After filtering through the earth's atmosphere, sunlight contains
radiation in several portions of the UV range.
UVA 315 - 380 nm (as per DIN 5031
Part 7)
-Has mainly pigmenting effect (browning)!
-Skin aging is accelerated, since UVA penetrates up to the
connective tissue of the skin and impairs the elasticity.
UVB 280 - 315 nm (as per DIN 5031
Part 7)
-Stimulates: the melanocytes sitting deep in the skin to produce
melanin, which moves slowly to the skin surface and is reduced
by UVA, typically browning the skin.
-This creates a risk of sun burn, which is damage of the skin
due to radiation, leading to inflammation, and occasionally
to permanent damage of the skin tissue.
UVC 100 - 280 nm (as per DIN 5031
Part 7)
-Carcinogen
-Largely filtered out through the ozone layer in the atmosphere.
Remark: e.g. in Australia the filtering of the ozone layer
is heavily restricted.
For skin, UV means stress. After regular
sunbathing, the appearance of the skin will initially improve.
However, sun exposure actually lays the path for new pimples
and blackheads. BEAUTY SKIN utilizes only those light
ranges which improves the skin's appearance without negative
side effects.
